This is quite a simple mission. As you see on the map there is a row of summon portals (“supply tents”). Every summon portal is defended by the usual lot of mobs and one mini-boss (you will instantly recognize him). If you kill the summon portal the related mini-boss is easy to kill. If not the mini-boss is nearly indestructible.

I have found only one trap in two runs. Easy 40 gold coins…

Update 2011-10-31:

My alt, Fritz, has reached now level 113. I tried to run Black Forest Depot with him to get these promised easy gold coins. And you know what? It was easy. Ravage Melody and Meteor Strike together take care of the normal monsters. The only “problem” was the boss fight. The Captain has a lot of hitpoints. Take resurrection scrolls with you in case your oracle gets decapacitated.

Here is a link to the video of this first Fritz Black Forest Depot run:

Update 2012-07-08:

And here is a video with a staff main of mine, Claudiana, then in level 112, accompanied by her trusty gang of witch, janissary and oracle:

do the monsters from summon portals come at you or do they linger around the mini bosses?

  4. 15.11.2011 15:31

As you can see in the video the spawned monsters march, the preset monsters don’t. An exception seem to be the monsters spawned at the boss tent. They linger around. And I also suspect that the spawning of the tents in the back does not start right in the beginning (may be only if the tent before is destroyed? not enough data to confirm that yet).

All in all I won’t worry too much about the spawning monsters. In the video I did ok with them, in spite of my main being barely legal (for this mission).

I was wondering about it because maybe for some quick loot you could skip a few turns before destroying the last tent allowing as many of them as possible to spawn. I’m about to do this mission with a level 112 staffm and a witch

This is one of the easiest TBS i have run in a while. If I had to compare it to something its kinda similar to Fleeing Betrayer. The only problem in this TBS is the final boss who takes some time to deal with, other than that the monsters are tough but dont do much damage, so You can take your time killing them even if you have no witch.

This became my favorite since teh first run, i think its worth to do it even 4 or 5 times a week until lv115 – rewards are way better than silver coins in lower boxes and I actually enjoy doing it (ex. unlike troy 110 where you have to spend half an hour at the first gate… blah..)

i did something really stupid lol, was doing fine till boss, for some odd reason i didn’t see he had his own supply tent so i started killing him while ignoring it.
after a while i saw it so made my catapult snipe it while the boss was focused on killing my jani/main/witch and after it went down i still had alot of time thankfully

also you should try doing something like having the 3 other mercs that arent your oracle form a “V” while attacking, this boss can’t hit them all like that, but would allow for healing ressurecting all 3 if needed.

The mission is easy, but I end up building 3+ catapults. The problem is that the catapult cant kill the portals at range and gets attacked. The boss joins the fray and then I have issues. I can complete the mission though. However, the Alishan In Ruins TBS is easier because I can steamroll through it and don’t have to construct multiple catapults

will we need witch to do this tbs? because i never use witch, just main character, sherrif, oracle and vampire

  10. 29.05.2012 08:10

That is ok, too. I only used witch because she is cheap. I have only one expensive mercenary (sheriff), from an event. Fritz is a low-cost-character, so no vampire for him, if he cannot pay for it with in-game-money (or has a lot of luck during an event).
